動(dòng)物皮膚的一層。在真皮下，下與肌內相接。反外皮也稱(chēng)為「內表皮」。
植物根中，在皮層組織中的最內層。排列齊整、緊密，且臨維管束鞘，能阻止水分通過(guò)的一層細胞。也稱(chēng)為「內皮層」。
