國語(yǔ)辭典書(shū)體名。秦統一天下後，因各國語(yǔ)言文字互異，始皇為使文字規範化，遂令丞相李斯等人，在大篆的基礎上，加以省改，頒行全國成為官定的標準字體。小篆字體較大篆字體簡(jiǎn)化、整齊。今存於世的秦泰山、瑯琊臺兩塊殘石，稍可見(jiàn)小篆風(fēng)貌。也稱(chēng)為「秦篆」。
