帝號。傳說(shuō)中上古的帝王，始作耒耜，教民種植五穀，振興農業(yè)，口嚐百草，始作方書(shū)，以療民疾，為我國傳說(shuō)中務(wù)農、製藥的創(chuàng )始人，故稱(chēng)為「神農」。起於烈山，故也稱(chēng)為「烈山氏」、「炎帝」。
